Meet the Board

Leslie Drez - President
Leslie Drez - Secretary
Term - 6/2024-6/2026

Hi, I’m Leslie. I am originally from Chicago, IL and moved to Arizona in 2018 for my job. My husband John and I have been Mulberry residents for a year. We have two sweet, older dogs that many of you may have already met, Max & Bentley. We all hope to meet you someday soon.

My interest is to serve the community and make a positive difference. I have served on the Customer Advisory Board for the Omni Hotel, the Celebrating Women in Leadership Committee for Lewis University, and currently serve on the Shutterfly Health and Safety Committee.

I lived within an HOA community in Illinois before moving to Mulberry. I love Mulberry! We drove by one day a year ago and said, “I would love to live there.” We still cannot believe it came true. This is the community we always hoped of living in with friendly neighbors, great amenities, lots of parks, and many fun activities to participate in to get to know everyone.

My vision for Mulberry, like yours, is to enhance an already great community any way possible designed to capture your heart every day. I want to protect our community, its residents and our investments and help the neighborhood grow any way I can. I will listen well to resolve issues, improve customer satisfaction, and make better informed decisions in a timely manner and in the best interest of the whole community. I will contribute my time and energy to make a positive difference in the place everyone wants to be. I look forward to serving you on the board.

Susan Mason - Board Vice President
Term - 6/2022 - 6/2025

Hi Mulberry Residents, my name is Susan Mason and I would appreciate your vote for the Board of Directors. My husband & I moved to the Arbors February 2016. We have enjoyed the gorgeous amenities and plentiful events in Mulberry over the last 6 years. I have 30 years of analytical, creative problem-solving skills and a passion for results while working in office administration, customer service and accounting. I proudly served on our first Management Committee in search of a new property management company. My vision for Mulberry is listen to our residents & continue making our community a pleasant and safe environment for everyone. We all moved to this wonderful community for different reasons, now we all need to do our part to protect our community and investment. As a Board member, I will do my sincere best to bring solutions in the best interest of our residents and community.
Carolyn Dennis - Secretary
Hi,
My name is Carolyn Dennis. I have lived in Mulberry since November 2018. And I am delighted to live here. I was on the first Board of Directors for Mulberry from 2020 – 2022. I have enjoyed the beauty of the neighborhood and my neighbors. The comments I have received from my friends and family about Mulberry have been wonderful, and I have been inspired.

We do live in a diverse nation leading to many different perspectives.  If we were to interview the residents of Mulberry and ask where their hometown is, we would probably be amazed at the diversity. However, I believe the one thing we have in common is that we desire a well-kept marketable neighborhood, a sense of community; a neighborhood that is safe, clean, attractive, near to great schools and great shopping, with amenities and activities that our families can enjoy. I want to call this the common good for our community.

From my business and finance experience, I will bring the gift of administration to the HOA Board. I like to understand, first, do the necessary research, plan, and execute solutions that are for the greater good.

I realize that a clear understanding comes by asking and listening. I believe I bring the skill of good communication, both written and spoken. Employing good communication skills is a required quality in ensuring that all residents have full access to the plans for Mulberry and that the questions of residents are answered openly and with expediency. There must be transparency from the HOA Board.

My most enriching position was the Controller of the Miller Brewery in Milwaukee. What made that so enriching was that we were using the team approach to business. This means that I was able to go down to the manufacturing floor and talk to the teams that were on the manufacturing lines. The insight I gained was invaluable!  The lesson learned was that my effectiveness came from gaining an understanding from the people closer to the work……and for Mulberry that means the residents. I will be here for you!
Thank you!
I am Carolyn Dennis and I approve this message.
Alison Lawlor - Treasurer
Alison Lawlor - Board Treasurer
Term - 6/2024 - 6/2027
Hello Mulberry neighbors. My name is Alison Lawlor. My husband Don and I chose to follow my daughter and grandchildren on a new adventure to AZ in 2017. We soon began looking for a home and knew that Mulberry was where we wanted to live the first time we drove by. We had our home built in 2018 and enjoyed our community very much. My professional role is Chief Financial Officer and Principal at an Engineering company. Before that, I was a CFO at a half-billion-dollar company. I have managed acquisitions, HR, Contract, and Admin depts. I am interested in serving the community Board as both a financial steward and to continue to support and foster our sense of community. We have a lovely neighborhood that we are fortunate to call home.

The Association is governed by a five-member volunteer Board of Directors, elected by homeowners. They generally meet on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm. Meeting notices and agendas are sent in E-Newsletters.

Board meetings are open format meetings, and all homeowners are encouraged to attend. These are working meetings with an agenda set in advance, but each includes a Homeowner Forum portion to allow residents to address the Board.
